ABOUT ME

I grew up in Green, OH, where I played a variety of sports that taught me valuable life skills such as discipline, focus, teamwork, and resilience. Figure skating and cheerleading were my true passions. I was a member of the Kent State Figure Skating Club from 1989-1996, competing in competitions all across the Midwest and Canada. I was a member of the NEO All-Stars cheerleading team from 1994-2000, winning multiple national championships, and performing at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. In 2000, I made the Ohio State cheerleading team as one of six incoming freshmen.

At Ohio State, I was a 4-year member (2001-2005) of the Varsity Cheerleading team and the Nationals team that competed at the UCA College Cheerleading Nationals. I cheered at four bowl games, including the National Championship in Tempe, Arizona, where the Buckeyes triumphed over the University of Miami in a thrilling double-overtime victory.

Once I turned 21, I worked as a bartender from 2003-2007 while completing my bachelors degree and a Web Developer certification from Ohio State. In 2007, I got my first job in Web Design and Email Marketing, followed by a role at ICC (now g2o), where I was contracted to work for Cardinal Health from 2007-2012, both at their headquarters in Dublin, OH and remotely after moving to Wadsworth, OH in 2008.

I got married in 2010 and received rave reviews for the personalized items that I made for my bridal party and my wedding, which led to the launch of my first business, Personalized Brides. By 2012, I was able to run it full-time, and by 2013, it had become so successful that my husband joined the business. In 2014, we moved in to a manufacturing facility and expanded our offerings with niche sites like PersonalizedBabies.com, PersonalizedSpiritwear.com, and PersonalizedSkaters.com. All of these companies are now a part of the Personalized Brands family.

In addition to building & maintaining each of these websites, I have also been responsible the SEO, marketing, advertising, graphic design, product procurement & creation, apparel design & general business operations. In 2024, I will be handing over my day-to-day responsibilities to transition back to a role within a company, where I can solely focus on leveraging my design skills and digital expertise.
